Appbot Riley Ad on Indiegogo

Home security robots are slowly making their way out of Science Fiction to mass production. What distinguishes home security robots from regular IP cameras is ability to move either autonomously or controlled by a mobile application. Being mobile means they can be used as baby monitors, for entertaining family pets from distance or monitoring the elderly.
Riley was conceived in a crowdfunding site Indiegogo and has made it to production. Unlike most robots, Riley uses rubber threads to move about, which let it handle rought terrain like carpets or even grass.

Riley doesn’t lack any feature you’d expect from hight-end IP camera like movement sensor, night vision, face detection or HD picture streaming.
Appbot Riley is one of the only home robots you can customize on daily basis. The rubber crawlers come in multiple colors and can easily be switched.
Riley can be used as a communication device thanks to the built in microphone and speakers. Even though it’s hardly enough to scare a burglar (it will record the thief’s face though!), it can be used to call family member for dinner form the other side of the house or entertain a pet from your office.
Falling over does not render your robotic guardsman useless. It can lift itself back upright after falling over.

Nokia FIT Handsfree Earsfree Concept

Designed by Issam Trabelsi, Nokia FIT, is a flexible rubber and silicone cell phone concept that fits onto your finger. The device rests on the index finger like a ring and saves the ears from the continuous exposure to Bluetooth radiation.
When you get a text or phone call, the FIT vibrates to alert you and you can simply hold your finger up to your ear to talk and listen.
This light weight ring phone can fit many different sizes of fingers. You can even use it in the swimming pool as it is waterproof.
The FIT’s design is minimalist. Altogether it only has two small buttons for picking up and ending calls. It also sports small LED indicators that notify you of missed calls and unread messages.
